What can I sell through Fungies?

Accepted Answer

Anything digital. SaaS subscriptions and memberships, digital downloads, online courses, ebooks, music and sample packs, Steam and other game keys, and in-game assets such as virtual currency and items. Products support variants, and subscriptions support plans. You can also list free products.

What does it cost?

Accepted Answer

There is no monthly fee, no setup cost, and no credit card required to start. We charge 5% + 50¢ on each successful transaction, and that covers payment processing, tax calculation and filing, fraud screening, chargebacks, and every feature on the platform. That is the standard rate and it is negotiable once you are selling at volume.

Do I need to write any code?

No. The store builder, checkout, and customer portal are all configured visually — you can even use the builder before signing up. A REST API, webhooks, a JavaScript SDK, a CLI, and an MCP server are all available if you want to integrate deeply, but nothing requires them.

How do I sign up?

Accepted Answer

Create an account at app.fungies.io/register. There is no upfront payment and no card needed. You will verify your workspace, and connect your own payout account when you are ready to receive money.

Do you host the website too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Stores are hosted by us and publish on a Fungies subdomain, or on a custom domain you own. Custom domains are moved to Cloudflare for DDoS protection, which has been required since October 2024.

Can I use my own domain name?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You point your own domain at the store and it becomes the public address. You do need to buy the domain separately — we do not sell domains.

What can I do with the website builder?

Accepted Answer

Set general styling, build a header and footer, add as many pages as you need, and compose each page from sections — text, image, video, gallery, points, slider, and recent products — each with its own styling. An Explore and search page and a product page with customisable review categories are built in.

How do I publish my store?

Accepted Answer

Publish from the builder. The store goes live immediately on your Fungies subdomain, or on your custom domain once it is connected. A sitemap and SEO settings are generated for you, along with a Google Merchant Center feed.

How do I add checkout to a site I already have?

Accepted Answer

Three ways. Use hosted checkout and link to it, drop the overlay checkout into your existing pages, or embed the checkout inline. There are HTML data attributes for drop-in buttons, a JavaScript SDK, a React example, and a Next.js integration guide.

Can I test before going live?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There is a full sandbox mode and support for test payments, so you can run an entire purchase end to end before charging a real card.

How do my customers pay?

Cards and wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, bank redirects like iDEAL, SEPA direct debit, vouchers, buy-now-pay-later, PayPal, South Korean methods including Naver Pay and Kakao Pay, and crypto and stablecoins. Which options appear depends on the customer's country and the currency you are charging in.

How and when do I get paid?

Payouts go to your own connected payout account. Daily automatic is the default schedule in supported countries, and you can switch to weekly, monthly, or manual in the dashboard. The first payout is typically scheduled 7 to 14 days after your first payment; after that it follows your chosen schedule.

Where can I sign up from, and who can I sell to?

Your customers can be anywhere in the world. Receiving money is the part with a list: payouts are supported in over 110 countries, each with its own settlement currency and minimum payout amount, published in the help centre under global availability.

Do you handle tax?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and this is the main reason people use us. As Merchant of Record we calculate, collect, remit, and file VAT, GST, and US sales tax, and we handle the audits. You receive net revenue rather than gross receipts plus a liability you have to work out later.

What does Merchant of Record actually mean?

Accepted Answer

It means we are the legal seller on every transaction rather than you. The customer's contract is with us, the tax liability is ours, and the payment appears on their statement under our descriptor. Mechanically we hold the master merchant account with our payment providers, and you own a connected sub-merchant account that receives your money.

Do I need a registered business to sell?

Not necessarily, because we are the legal seller. You do still complete our payment provider's onboarding in order to receive payouts, and their identity and verification requirements apply there — including KYC once you pass a certain volume.

Who handles refunds and chargebacks?

Accepted Answer

We do. Disputes and chargebacks come to us as the seller of record rather than landing on your own merchant account. Note that a negative balance, for example from refunds, may be debited from your bank account.

Is there anything I am not allowed to sell?

Accepted Answer

Yes — there is a prohibited business and products policy, and it is worth reading before you build a catalogue. If you are unsure whether something falls inside it, ask us before you launch rather than after.
