Twenty years of enterprise commerce, behind a sales call
Cleverbridge has processed over ten billion dollars and files tax in 240+ markets. Every route into them is Talk to Sales, Get a Quote or Request Demo, and no price appears anywhere on their site.
Cleverbridge is one of the original software merchants of record, founded in Cologne in 2005, now 200-odd people across five offices with a BaFin-regulated financial subsidiary and ISO 27001 and ISAE 3402 behind it. For an enterprise software business with a procurement-heavy sales motion, they are a credible and experienced choice, and at real volume their negotiated rate may well beat ours. The gap is who they are reachable by. There is no sign-up button on their site, no published rate, and their own process runs from consultation to tailored proposal before you learn what anything costs. We publish 5% + 50¢ and you can have a storefront live this afternoon without speaking to anyone.

Cleverbridge publishes no rate, payout terms or dispute fees, so most of their column reads Not published rather than a number we invented. Their site says pricing depends on transaction volume, payment mix, currencies and customer locations. At enterprise volume a negotiated rate may be well below ours, and the only way to find out is to ask them.
What you get without a proposal
A price you can read today
5% + 50¢, on the pricing page, available to anyone the day they sign up and negotiable downwards at volume. Cleverbridge's pricing page describes their model as taking a small cut of each transaction and then asks you to request a quote. Both of us will talk about rates at scale; only one of us lets you build a business case on a Tuesday afternoon without booking anything first.
Nobody decides whether you are worth onboarding
Every merchant-facing route on their site is Talk to Sales, Get a Quote or Request Demo, and their published process begins by meeting their ecommerce experts to discuss your business model and target markets. That is a qualification step. Our sign-up asks for an email, and a first-time seller gets the same published rate and the same product as a large studio, without having to justify themselves to get it.
Payout terms you can see before you commit
We pay daily by default into your own connected account, with no minimum and no per-payout fee, switchable to weekly, monthly or manual. Cleverbridge publishes no payout frequency, threshold, delay or fee anywhere, which means cash-flow terms are something you discover during contract negotiation rather than something you compare beforehand.
The storefront is included, not scoped
Their checkout range is genuinely broad, and alongside it they sell professional services covering checkout, storefront and portal UX enhancements, custom UI styling and responsive design. Ours is a store builder in the dashboard with hosting and your own domain included in the rate, which is less bespoke and costs nothing extra.
Games are a supported case rather than an unlisted one
Their named verticals are software and SaaS, cybersecurity, CAD and design, AI tools and digital products. If you sell to players — Steam keys, web stores for mobile in-app purchases, currency packs, in-game items — that is a category we built for and they do not list.
When Cleverbridge is the better call
No provider wins every case, and a comparison that pretends otherwise is not worth your time. Here is where Cleverbridge is the better answer.
Enterprise procurement is the sales motion
Proforma invoices on demand, instant quotes, built-in exemption and B2B validation logic, automated invoice generation and delivery. If your deals involve a purchasing department and a net-30 invoice rather than a card, they have built that properly and we have less of it.
You need reach beyond our map
240+ countries and territories, 59 transaction currencies, checkout in 30+ languages. That is wider than our 150+ countries. If your growth plan depends on markets at the long tail, they cover more ground.
Your risk committee wants a regulated counterparty
They operate Cleverbridge Financial Services GmbH, a separate entity supervised by BaFin, alongside PCI DSS, ISO 27001 and ISAE 3402. Combined with twenty years of operating history and offices in Chicago, Austin, London, Cologne and Singapore, that is a strong answer to a vendor risk assessment.
You want people, not a dashboard
White-glove service from a global team of ecommerce specialists, implementation and onboarding, ERP and CRM integrations, outsourced billing support, affiliate and retention marketing, and access to a partner network they put at over a hundred thousand affiliates and resellers. If you would rather buy a team than operate a tool, that is a real offer and not one we make.
What sellers say once they have switched
★★★★★ 4.8/5 from 10 reviews on G2 →
Vadim Finayev “We work with quite a few merchants of record, but none comes close to the support and speed of implementation of Fungies. If you want a payment partner that actually gives you the feeling they want to work with you — rather than leaving you on read for three days or randomly restricting your account — you are in the right place.”
David Elliott “I researched the options and Fungies was the best fit for functionality and customisation within a store builder you can connect to your own domain. Taking a small percentage of sales, instead of charging a subscription for every environment and plugin, is refreshing.”
Elnura Abdimanap Kyzy “The platform is user-friendly, integrates easily with APIs and webhooks, and simplifies managing digital products and subscriptions. We were up and running quickly and support has been responsive throughout. Fungies is clearly tailored to the needs of SaaS businesses.”
Francisco Magnone Rienzi “Fungies has been a great partner — fast setup, competitive pricing, and real humans providing quick answers. They are constantly rolling out new features, and I am excited to see what is next.”
