They publish who they are not for. We are for those people.
Nexway's own fit table lists early-stage micro-business under limited or no support. If that is you, and it is most people reading this, the rest of the comparison is academic.
Nexway has been a merchant of record since 2002, works with Kaspersky, ESET, Opera and FNAC Darty, and reaches 140+ countries with 90+ payment methods. For a large software business wanting a European contracting party and a named account team, that is a serious offer. They are also unusually candid about their boundaries: their pricing page carries a supported-industries table listing SaaS, gaming and digital media on one side, and on the other, under limited or no support, high-risk categories, physical goods and early-stage micro-business. Their intake form asks your annual online revenue in bands starting at no revenue yet. We publish one rate, take anyone who can pass verification, and do not have a table of who is too small.

Gaming is a supported industry. Enterprise-oriented, with a reseller portal.
Nexway publishes no rate, payout terms or thresholds, so their column says Not published rather than carrying an estimate. One figure on their pricing page, a 1–3% saving, describes the cost of third-party billing tools you would otherwise use rather than any Nexway fee, and we have left it out to avoid the obvious misreading. Their $1M revenue floor applies to physical-product enquiries only, not to software.
Why size should not decide who will sell for you
There is no revenue band to clear
Nexway's intake form asks for your online annual revenue and offers bands from no revenue yet through to $20M+, and their supported-industries table places early-stage micro-business under limited or no support. That is honest of them, and it is also a door. Our sign-up asks for an email. A developer with no revenue and a studio doing eight figures get the same 5% + 50¢ and the same platform.
You start from a published number, not a proposal
A success-based revenue share quoted per account means the starting point depends on how much leverage you brought to the call. Ours is published, available to anyone the day they sign up, and negotiable downwards once you are selling at volume. The difference is not that we never negotiate — it is that you can read the worst case before you talk to anyone.
You can be live before their first call
Their process starts with a qualification conversation to see whether you are a match, in their own words. Ours starts with a store builder. Build the storefront, connect a product, publish on your own domain and take a real payment in about five minutes, then decide whether it works before anyone has to be convinced of anything.
Payout terms are published, not negotiated
We pay daily by default into your connected account, with no minimum and no per-payout fee, switchable to weekly, monthly or manual whenever you like. Nexway publishes no payout frequency, threshold or delay, so cash-flow terms are part of the contract discussion rather than something you can compare in advance.
Self-serve tooling, not a services engagement
Nexway's model is explicitly hands-on: dedicated account management, custom-built integrations, absorbed custom development, tailored platform work. That is valuable at enterprise scale and it is also a way of saying the platform expects a team around it. Ours is built to be operated by one person in a dashboard, with an API when you want it.
When Nexway is the better call
No provider wins every case, and a comparison that pretends otherwise is not worth your time. Here is where Nexway is the better answer.
You are an established enterprise with a named account team in mind
Twenty-plus years as a merchant of record, Kaspersky, ESET, Opera and FNAC Darty as public references, and relationships they document running past a decade. Dedicated account management, in-house manual fraud review and support integrated with your teams rather than a helpdesk. If you want a partner rather than a product, that is what they sell.
You need a European contracting party
Nexway is a French SASU headquartered in Nîmes with EU VAT registration and offices in France, Italy, the United States and Japan. For a buyer whose legal team wants an EU-domiciled counterparty and EU data handling by default, that is a straightforward advantage.
You sell through resellers and distributors
They sell a dedicated reseller portal for managing B2B sales and distribution networks, with published case work behind it. Channel distribution at that depth is a real product and not something we offer.
You need physical goods alongside digital
Nexway supports physical product distribution, which is unusual for a merchant of record, though their sales page gates physical-product enquiries to companies with $1M or more in revenue. We are digital only, so if your catalogue mixes both, they can cover ground we cannot.
What sellers say once they have switched
★★★★★ 4.8/5 from 10 reviews on G2 →
Vadim Finayev “We work with quite a few merchants of record, but none comes close to the support and speed of implementation of Fungies. If you want a payment partner that actually gives you the feeling they want to work with you — rather than leaving you on read for three days or randomly restricting your account — you are in the right place.”
David Elliott “I researched the options and Fungies was the best fit for functionality and customisation within a store builder you can connect to your own domain. Taking a small percentage of sales, instead of charging a subscription for every environment and plugin, is refreshing.”
Elnura Abdimanap Kyzy “The platform is user-friendly, integrates easily with APIs and webhooks, and simplifies managing digital products and subscriptions. We were up and running quickly and support has been responsive throughout. Fungies is clearly tailored to the needs of SaaS businesses.”
Francisco Magnone Rienzi “Fungies has been a great partner — fast setup, competitive pricing, and real humans providing quick answers. They are constantly rolling out new features, and I am excited to see what is next.”
