Their 5%, and the part that comes after the plus sign
Xsolla's marketing says 5%. Xsolla's own Pay Station and Site Builder pricing pages say 5% of transactions + cost of channel, and nowhere on their site defines what the cost of channel is.
Xsolla is the most established merchant of record in games and for a large mobile title they are probably the right answer. Eighteen years of games-specific tax filing, payment coverage most providers cannot approach, and a suite around it — Login, Launcher, In-Game Store, Player Inventory, Offerwall and a creator network they put at 200,000 people. We are not going to pretend to match that. The reason a smaller studio might still choose us is the price you can actually verify. Their homepage says 5% and their product pricing pages say 5% of transactions plus cost of channel, a term their site never defines, which means the all-in cost is not knowable before you sign. Ours is 5% + 50¢ with no channel cost, no per-dispute fee, and payouts daily rather than monthly on contract terms.

Games only. Their own framing is the video game business engine.
Xsolla's pages state the rate two different ways. Their pricing page and homepage present 5% as the whole price; their Pay Station and Site Builder pricing pages say 5% of transactions + cost of channel, and a third page says fees starting from 5%. We have quoted the qualified version because it is the more specific one, and we could not find any page defining what a channel costs. If they publish that figure, this comparison should be read again against it.
Where a smaller studio does better with us
One number, and it is the whole number
5% + 50¢ covers the card, the currency conversion, the tax filing, the fraud screening and the store. There is no second line called cost of channel that arrives once you are integrated. Xsolla's own product pricing pages add that term to the 5% and their site does not say what it comes to for any given payment method, which makes a genuine cost comparison impossible until you are already a customer.
Disputes are not deducted from your balance
Xsolla charges $7–15 for a card chargeback and $10 for PayPal, taken out of your publisher account, and describes them as the administrative cost of defending you. Their pricing page also says they assume all liability with the financial institutions. Both statements are theirs. On our side there is no per-dispute fee at all, and our platform dispute rate is 0.04% against the 0.7% at which card networks start monitoring sellers.
Money moves daily rather than monthly
Their payouts are monthly, the minimum threshold and timing live in your contract rather than on a page, and their FAQ says plainly that they do not pay out early. For a studio funding user acquisition out of revenue, a month is a long time. We pay daily by default into your own connected account, with no minimum, and you can switch to weekly, monthly or manual.
You can try it before anyone signs anything
Xsolla's flow is an application and a licensing agreement, reviewed in one to three business days, and their Site Builder FAQ is explicit that you must sign a contract before a site can be published. That is a fast approval by industry standards and it is still a contract before a live page. You can build a store with us, publish it on your own domain and take a real payment the same afternoon.
Games and everything else on one account
Plenty of studios also sell a tool, an asset pack or a subscription that is not a game. Xsolla is games only by design. We run web stores for mobile in-app purchases, Steam key delivery, in-game items and currency packs alongside ordinary SaaS and digital goods billing, on the same account and the same rate, which saves splitting your finances across two providers.
When Xsolla is the better call
No provider wins every case, and a comparison that pretends otherwise is not worth your time. Here is where Xsolla is the better answer.
You are a large mobile title going direct to player
Web shops for out-of-platform mobile purchases are the live commercial fight in games right now, and Xsolla has shipped hundreds of them for top-grossing titles, positioned as compliant with the US App Store ruling on external payments. If avoiding a 30% platform cut at scale is the project, that is their home ground and their track record is real.
Your players are outside the card economy
Cash kiosks, carrier billing, gift cards and regional wallets across 200+ geographies. If a meaningful share of your revenue comes from Southeast Asia, Latin America or the Middle East, their long tail of local methods will convert players that our 250+ methods will not reach, and that difference will dwarf any rate argument.
You want the whole games stack under one contract
Login, Launcher, In-Game Store, Player Inventory, Anti-Fraud, Offerwall and a Partner Network of around 200,000 creators, all under one agreement and, by their account, one price. We are a commerce layer. If you want player identity and creator monetisation from the same vendor, they have built it and we have not.
You need a named account manager with an SLA
They publish dedicated account management with a sub-12-hour response and sub-30-minute urgent response, 24/7 support and a 99.9% uptime guarantee. At volume, quote-only pricing also cuts in your favour. We negotiate at volume as well, so the sensible move is to get both numbers — but their reach may justify a higher one anyway.
What sellers say once they have switched
★★★★★ 4.8/5 from 10 reviews on G2 →
Vadim Finayev “We work with quite a few merchants of record, but none comes close to the support and speed of implementation of Fungies. If you want a payment partner that actually gives you the feeling they want to work with you — rather than leaving you on read for three days or randomly restricting your account — you are in the right place.”
David Elliott “I researched the options and Fungies was the best fit for functionality and customisation within a store builder you can connect to your own domain. Taking a small percentage of sales, instead of charging a subscription for every environment and plugin, is refreshing.”
Elnura Abdimanap Kyzy “The platform is user-friendly, integrates easily with APIs and webhooks, and simplifies managing digital products and subscriptions. We were up and running quickly and support has been responsive throughout. Fungies is clearly tailored to the needs of SaaS businesses.”
Francisco Magnone Rienzi “Fungies has been a great partner — fast setup, competitive pricing, and real humans providing quick answers. They are constantly rolling out new features, and I am excited to see what is next.”
