For health software, not for patient payments
Read this part before anything else. We do not process patient billing, co-pays, insurance claims or anything that touches protected health information, and we do not sign business associate agreements. If you are collecting money from patients for care, stop here and use a healthcare payments provider. What follows is for the digital products sold around clinical work.
What we are a good fit for
- Practice-management and clinical software
- Subscriptions sold to clinics, therapists and practitioners as software licences. The buyer is the practice; the money is your revenue, not a patient's payment.
- Continuing education and training
- Courses, video libraries and certification prep sold to clinicians, one-time or as a membership, with access delivered on payment.
- Patient-education content sold direct
- Guides, programmes and downloadable material bought by the reader for themselves, with no clinical record and no care relationship attached to the sale.
- Health and wellness apps
- Consumer subscriptions with trials, plan changes and self-serve cancellation handled in a branded portal rather than by your support inbox.
- Tax across every market you sell into
- Digital products create VAT, GST and sales-tax obligations from the first international sale. As Merchant of Record those registrations and filings are ours.
- A payment surface off your infrastructure
- Card entry happens on a page we serve. Nothing sensitive about a payment passes through the systems you operate or the ones you would have to assess.
Working out whether this fits
- 01
Identify who is paying and for what
A practice buying a software licence is a straightforward commercial sale. A patient paying for treatment is not, and no configuration of this platform makes it one.
- 02
Keep clinical data out of the transaction
We collect commercial billing details — name, address, email, company and tax ID. Custom fields exist to carry your own account identifier, not diagnoses, appointments or anything else about a patient.
- 03
Check the product against the policy
There is a published prohibited business and products policy. Reading it early is faster than discovering a category problem after you have integrated.
- 04
Build and test before committing
The store builder opens without an account and sandbox mode runs a whole purchase without charging a card, so you can evaluate the fit with a working flow rather than a sales call.
The boundaries, stated plainly
HIPAA is not something we take on
We are not a business associate, we will not enter a BAA, and none of the compliance work that regulated healthcare entities carry transfers here. Our compliance scope is payments and tax, not health information.
No insurance, claims or patient responsibility
There is no eligibility check, no claim submission, no explanation-of-benefits handling and no patient balance to collect against. Those are the core of healthcare payment processing and we do not do any of them.
Nothing in person, nothing over the phone
No card readers at a front desk, no terminals, no staff keying a card in while a patient reads out the number. Every payment is started by the customer on a checkout page.
What you do get is the commercial side, complete
Recurring billing, worldwide tax handled as seller of record, fraud screening, refunds, chargebacks and a customer portal, for a flat 5% + 50¢ per transaction with no monthly fee. Negotiable once you are selling at volume.
What sellers say once they have switched

Vadim Finayev “We work with quite a few merchants of record, but none comes close to the support and speed of implementation of Fungies. If you want a payment partner that actually gives you the feeling they want to work with you — rather than leaving you on read for three days or randomly restricting your account — you are in the right place.”
David Elliott “I researched the options and Fungies was the best fit for functionality and customisation within a store builder you can connect to your own domain. Taking a small percentage of sales, instead of charging a subscription for every environment and plugin, is refreshing.”
Elnura Abdimanap Kyzy “The platform is user-friendly, integrates easily with APIs and webhooks, and simplifies managing digital products and subscriptions. We were up and running quickly and support has been responsive throughout. Fungies is clearly tailored to the needs of SaaS businesses.”
Francisco Magnone Rienzi “Fungies has been a great partner — fast setup, competitive pricing, and real humans providing quick answers. They are constantly rolling out new features, and I am excited to see what is next.”
Scope questions for health businesses
Where the digital part of a sector fits, and where it honestly does not.
If the product is digital, the rest is straightforward
Create a workspace, put a course or a subscription behind a checkout, and take a test payment through sandbox mode before deciding.
